Stillwater Giants
Genre: Pop, Indie
Region: Perth, WA
Members: Henry - Vox and Guitar, Tom - Lead Guitar and Vox, Kyle - Bass and Vox, Angus - Drums

Hailing from the effervescent WA music scene, Margaret River locals Stillwater Giants have established a unique blend of dreamy coastal pop and thundering rock over the last 18 months or so. As they set their sights towards a debut full-length record in 2013, the band have accepted the task of bridging Australia’s great divide - announcing a run of tour dates to the East Coast for the first time to showcase wares from their recently released second EP.

Since first arriving in late 2010, the band have consistently delivered their distinctive sound to new audiences, supporting the likes of Regurgitator, Ball Park Music, Last Dinosaurs, The Rubens, The Medics and Van She, as well as to festival crowds at Future Music, Parklife and Groovin’ The Moo in 2012.

Their critically acclaimed Fly Under The Radar EP (released September 2012) is driven by trademark three-part vocal harmonies and jangly, reverb-drenched dual guitar melodies. The EP echoes with transcendental pop hooks and epic, cinematic rock - a soaring amalgam of indie and surf rock. Leading singles ‘Not Like The Others’ and title-track ‘Fly Under The Radar’ have been supported by triple j – receiving healthy nods from presenters and adds to the station’s programming playlists.

To celebrate the release of the EP, Stillwater Giants are embarking on a string of dates around the nation in December, including debut performances along Australia’s East Coast. The band are set to visit Melbourne, Sydney and Byron Bay, before rounding out the tour with homecoming performances in WA, and a slot at Southbound Festival in January 2013.

With new material from their forthcoming debut album already underway, the Fly Under The Radar EP Tour is set to showcase Stillwater Giants at the top of their game.

Gr8 new stuff from a stack of flat our legends. Making Perth a better place. Live is incredible too; sweet LED set up.

I'm still not over the whole surf thing - this hits the sweet spot for me. Great frantic percussion and cooing vocals there too.

Put me into a trance. Truly relaxing but poppy and exciting enough to keep me from falling into a deep, heavenly sleep. Summer anthem, here we go.
